Indianola is the hometown of legendary blues musician B.B. King. An international icon, B.B. King has entertained generations and inspired musicians from Elvis Presley to the Rolling Stones.

Each year the Indianola Chamber of Commerce sponsors the B.B. King Homecoming Festival, which features the B.B. King Homecoming Concert. This event is held in June each year at Fletcher Park. At B.B. King's request, children under 12 are admitted free of charge, and regular admission is kept at a low charge with net proceeds going to the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center.

The festival attracts thousand of people every year. The crowds enjoy the music by B.B. King and other musicians along with food and fireworks.
